Bridging the Gap
Our Upper School Program allows for students to shine with a variety of different courses and clubs: students have the opportunity to pick up writing, as well as an instrument, students get involved in MUN, and they excel in their coursework through fun projects and presentations.
These are the years where students refine their critical thinking skills and utilize good study habits to meet the demands of more challenging work in preparation for college. During our Middle School years, students are preparing to question the meaning behind theories presented in class and learn to apply these theories to their other educational courses.
Getting Ready for College
High school is where you hard work pays off and you choose those classes that will support any college & career goals. American Academy builds students to be ready for a future in a number of different options for University and work. Our new Job Experiencing Program allows students in upper school to pair with a worker in a field of their choice and follow their procedure during work day. Very Important to our upper school, the academic counselor will help assemble a schedule that both challenges you and helps you achieve your long range objectives.
Get Involved
Going to a college preparatory school is not just about the academic side but also about preparation for the future years in our educational and professional lives. One of the best ways to experience American Academy is to join a number of our club teams and participate in our numerous school day events: International Day, M.E. Cultural Day, Science Fair Day, Environment Awareness Day, etc. American Academy has a wide variety of fun electives and activities to spark your students’ imagination.
Building Character
Having a good character has often been described as doing the right thing even when no one is looking. American Academy places great emphasis on Character Education; we place a great role in building our students’ characters. The six pillars of character (Responsibility, Respect, Citizenship, Caring, Fairness and Trustworthiness) are deeply imbued in the American Academy curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12. Students work on these pillars together to use and develop great exemplary character. The students are continuously showing these 6 pillars of character in their record of manner and in their community.
