Lower School Curriculum

Exciting First

The elementary years are filled with developmental milestones. Students certainly benefit from these milestones and new experiences showing new ways to increase their confidence and lay new learning foundations.

Explore The World

In the early elementary years, our science lessons will teach your child that nature is all around them and that it should be appreciated. From observing the life of an ant to categorizing objects, and from learning simple timelines to locating their place in the world during this time, American Academy prides its students on learning and exploring about the world. Often occurring field trips are designed to complement integrative class work activities and make the lessons common to real life.

Own Your Skills

Your children will reach new levels of learning in our Elementary Program at American Academy. They move from learning to read and write, through and on into learning helpful new study habits. In the elementary years, growth and maturity is established; our Elementary Program does not shy away from developing your students into confident learners. A student going through the Elementary Program goes from working under heavy supervision to working independently at his/her own path.

Building Character

Having a good character has often been described as doing the right thing even when no one is looking. American Academy places great emphasis on Character Education; we place a great role in building our students’ characters. The six pillars of character (Responsibility, Respect, Citizenship, Caring, Fairness and Trustworthiness) are deeply imbued in the American Academy curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12. Students work on these pillars together to practice and develop great exemplary character. The students show these 6 pillars of character in their record of manner and in their community.
